Strawberry picking date- date & location change!!

UPDATE:  5/23-- and this patch is closed as well for now:(

Roca Berry Farm-- our May 30th meet-up has been cancelled. Their strawberry crop has been ruined because of the cold nights...first time in 31 years!
Martin's Hillside Orchard (right outside of Ceresco, Nebraska-- North of Lincoln) has already opened for the season.
Their picking season is limited to only a few weeks...so if anyone would like to join us to pick strawberries there-- we will be picking on Wednesday, 5/23 at 10:30am.  We will be packing a lunch also.
It is supposed to be hot outside...so bring plenty of water, sunscreen, hats, and a container to hold your strawberries in.  Containers are also available to purchase.  Your kids will get messy (if they are like mine, so dress them in play clothes).
Link to their orchard and directions:  HERE!
Please note-- the patch sometimes closes at the last minute as they wait for more strawberries to ripen...I will post any changes to the blog...so check here before you leave.  I will call them in the morning before I head out.
THEY DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS.  SO BRING CASH OR CHECK.
This is a small family run farm.
E-mail me if you are coming so I can look for you in the fields!

A morning at the races!!

What:  Join us for a morning at the races!  I will have little team races planned for the kids to compete in.  There will be no water or messy games...so no worries moms!!  There will be no trophies or medals for the winners...maybe a piece of candy or something little at the end.

When:  Friday, May 11 at 10am- ??

Where:  Pioneers Park-- in between the playground and the restrooms....just look for me with my four kids setting up something...call me if you get lost:  402-540-7971

Map to Park:  HERE....just click on Pioneers Park

Who:  Homeschool kids ranging from preschool age- 2nd grade ish.   My games will not be very challenging, but should be fun for this age range.  Feel free to bring your younger or older kids...I will have mine in tow!

Why:  To have fun!  Meet other homeschooling families!!  Please join us, even if you haven't attended anything else during this past year.  We would love to have you!

RSVP:  Please if at all possible, can you e-mail me if you are planning on attending and how many kids will be participating in the games, by Thursday night.  I want to make sure I bring enough supplies for certain games.

Help!!!:  I will need help!  I am hoping to have 2-3 different teams.  My goal is to have at least one mom help each team...keeping the players together...giving them instructions if needed....keeping them focused on the game....etc.

I may also need help setting up a few games.

Ideas??! If you have any ideas for games...please let me know...even if it is the morning of.  Ideas are welcome!

Supplies needed!!:  It is not necessary, but if you have 3 regular size soccer cones...let me know...we could use them.  I ordered six cones from Amazon and they ended up being only 2 inches tall....ooops!  Covered!!

Lunch:  If you want to stay afterwards and have your kids play on the jungle gym...bring a lunch.  The kids can play and munch!

Shoes:  Have your kids wear tennis shoes...they might be doing a little bit of scrambling during the games.  Your call.

Hope to see you there!!!
